This dataset is comprised of annual figures of Chinese arms exports to less-developed countries along with other domestic and international indicators. There are thirteen total variables and they span the time period from 1951 to 1983. The dataset was compiled to investigate factors, both international and domestic, that drive fluctuations in Chinese arms exports to less-developed countries. All China-specific indicators were collected or calculated from existing cross-national datasets. The research was presented in an unpublished manuscript entitled, "Modeling Chinese Arms Export to the Third World: 1951-1983" by Yi Edward Yang.
